About Us

Discover a treasure trove of preloved books at Little Book Shoppie, an online book shop dedicated to giving new life to stories which originally started as a hobby on 24 June 2024 in a Whatsapp group.

Explore a wide range of genres from the comfort of your home through our Whatsapp groups & our online store. With our collection being constantly updated, you'll find something new and exciting each time you visit. For local Harrismith bookworms, in-person collections are available on Thursdays from 11 am to 5 pm, excluding public holidays. Additionally, we offer a nationwide book delivery service through Pudo or regular courier. Parcels are sent on Thursdays between 11am & 5pm.

Please allow for 3-5 business days processing time after placing new orders. We do like double checking orders and try to clean books to the best of our capability so that you can enjoy your newly purchased preloved books.

Understanding our formats and grading structure:

Book Formats

SP = Small Paperback – +/- 180mm x 110mm
MP = Medium – Larger Paperbacks - +/- 200mm x 130mm
LP = Large Paperback – +/- 235mm x 155mm
X-LP = Extra Large Paperback - Sizes vary

Some books also come in Hardcovers. Unfortunately none of us have taken the time to meausre them, but this can be researched on Google.
Various other formats also arrive, especially with kids books, recipe books, etc.. We refer to these as X-large etc.

SHC = Small Hard Cover
MHC = Medium Hard Cover
LHC = Large Hard Cover
X-LHC = X-Large Hard Cover

Book Conditions

New - Never been read. Some are still in packaging, others arrive without packaging.
Like New - Excellent condition. May have a name or retail inscription with very little evidence of handling or aging.
Very Good - Still in excellent condition with minimal handling wear and tear. May have inscriptions and show signs of aging. May have some foxing, slightly brown or yellowed pages.
Good - Book shows visible reading and handling wear and aging on cover and also in the book. May have various inscriptions, foxing or some water damage, brown / yellow pages. etc., but still very sturdy and intact.
Fair - Book is still in good shape but shows a lot of wear on the cover, with aged and very much handled pages. May have water damage and inscriptions, foxing, brown / yellow pages, etc., but still in one piece, may have a lose page.
Poor - Book is very much worn. All pages present and can still be read. May have water damage and inscriptions, etc.. Best known as a reading copy and may have lose pages.
