How to place an order in Whatsapp?
Information on how it works is provided in the Whatsapp group description. We also post instructions along with a tutorial video before we list.
Payments - Whatsapp Group Members:
The pay-as-you-go option is our preferred choice. However, if you're an active member of our WhatsApp community, we can reserve your books until the end of the month.
Updated balances are provided after each order or event.
The final account will be sent via a Yoco link at the end of the month or upon your request in the middle of the month.
You also have the option to pay by bank EFT; please ask for the details or select the manual payment option in the link. If you wish to utilize the pay-as-you-go method, simply request a payment link along with the amount you'd like to pay. Payments will be credited to your tab until the end of the month when we finalize the accounts and begin a new month.
Failure to pay in time:
Orders that remain unpaid by the 7th of the following month will be cancelled without prior notice and relisted for sale. If you choose to place an order with us again after failing to commit to your previous month's order, you will be required to pay for any new orders within 24 hours if you wish for us to reserve books for you in the future.
Pudo / Courier:
Smaller parcels, consisting of 1 to 5 books (and occasionally more based on size and weight), are usually wrapped in bubble wrap and shipped in sealed flyer bags provided by The Courier Guy specifically for this purpose. Boxes are categorized as medium to extra-large and can accommodate up to 20 kg of books. The quantity may range from 25 to 50 books, depending on the total weight of your selected items. We will reach out to you with a shipping amount for Pudo once your box is full or when you request we to send your books. Please note that Pudo parcels are dispatched on Thursdays only, excluding public holidays.
Disclaimer: We make use of Kiosk to locker / door / Kiosk. All our parcels are also weighed and measured at our local Kiosk and we accept that the bookings we made are correct as per The Courier Guy terms and conditions. We also take GPS date stamped photos of specifically the boxes as proof that the boxes are not damaged before handing in the parcels at the Kiosk. We take no responsibility for extra charges on delivery or damaged parcels. We do however ask that you notify us of such events that we can lodge a supporting complaint from ourside in the hopes of getting such matters resolved. You are hereby advised that parcels sent by Pudo are not insured and we will not be held lialble for any damages or losses suffered by you during transit. Please do contact us should you require insurance on your parcels. We will do our best to find a cost effective service provider on your behalf. Aditional charges will be for your account.
Storage - Up To 60 days / Till box is full so you can save on courier fees:
We provide decent covered indoor storage which are protected by an alarm and do our best to ensure that no harm comes to your newly purchased preloved books. You do however understand that any books stored with us or sent by courier is done entirely by your own risk. Books on our premises or in transit are not insured.
Active Monthly Users: We will store your books for up to 60 days or till you have up to 20kg books or till the box we are able to provide is full. You may also arrange that we send your books earlier.
Inactive Monthly Users: We will store your book / books for up to 60 days of inactivity. There after you are required to collect your books / to pay for Pudo/Courier charges so we can send your books. Paid for books in storage after 60 days will be considered as donations and will be sold without any compensation to you. Please make timely arrangements for collections & Pudo.

Thursdays only from 11am - 5pm. Please phone when you are at the gate.
DO NOT HOOT OR WHATSAPP as we may not hear you.
We are closed on public holidays.
Processing time on all new orders:
Please allow 3 to 5 days for processing new orders. We are far from perfect, but do strive for excellence while serving many clients, and we appreciate your patience. This time allows us to carefully review and clean your ordered books to the best of our abilities, doing our best to ensure that you will enjoy your new preloved treasures.
Any other information you need in order to puchase books from us will be stated before each event in the relevant whatsapp group or on the website. Subscribe to this website for regular updates on events and specials. You may also order from this website and we will update your orders for you.

How to place an order on our Website?
Buying from our website works exactly the same as buying from any other online store. Add to cart, checkout and pay online.
Payments:
Payments are required immediately after checkout. We use the Yoco app to process our orders, but you are most welcome to pay by regular EFT up to 24 hours after checking out. All orders not paid within 24 hours will be cancelled without notice.

We sell books on consignment and you will be paid as we manage to sell your books.
Here is how it works:
Valuation: A valuation will be done only once we receive your books. Please see our retail estimates at the bottom of the page to get an idea of how much you may get for your books after commission if we manage to sell them on your behalf.
Book Labeling: We label all books on the back with their selling price, our logo and details and your unique code so that we can identify them from others.
Delivery: Once we have agreed to sell your books on your behalf, please arrange to deliver your books in person on a Thursday between 11am & 5pm (Outside of Public Holidays) or use Pudo to Kiosk service.
Courier Costs: All delivery and collection costs are strictly for the sellers account.
Courier: You send or arrange for courier at your own risk. We do not accept any responsibility for damage caused to books in transit or any fines due to wrong bookings. All books and boxes in transit is for the sellers risk.
Commissions: Little Book Shoppie takes a 50% commission on all sold books.
Payouts: Payments are made via EFT as soon as we are paid for the books sold and generally it is no later than the 30th / 31st of the following month if your books sold. If you are a buying client, the amount due to you will be credited to your account, any credit balances left over after we have debited your current order can be paid out via EFT or kept as book credit.
Unsold Books: We try to sell books for up to 3-4 months depending on the nature of the books. Please collect unsold books within 10 business days after all sales & payments are concluded or donate leftover books to the shop. Unsold books not collected after 10 business days from the concluded date will not be stored for any reason, the books will be sold with no monies payable to you.
Terms: We accept a limited amount of consignments in accordance to our clientele’s reading preferences, storage facilities, available time to sell, etc. and can refuse your books for whatever reason. Please let us know that you would like to send books and we will let you know if we can or cannot accept your books.
Storage Terms: We provide decent covered indoor storage which are protected by an alarm and do our best to ensure that no harm comes to your books. We are also not insured for any books on our premises. You therefore understand that any books stored with us are done entirely by your own risk and we will not be held liable for any damages or losses suffered by you for any reason.
Books we no longer wish to sell:
Encyclopedias
Old Afrikaans Romances
Old English Mills & Boon Books / Silhouette Books
Any books with missing pages, pages that are about to fall out, or any books poor condition in general.
Dirty books - No matter how good the condition - Please clean and dust your books before you send - A tad bit of Mr Min, a soft cloth and some gentle elbow grease works very well.
Water damaged books
Old Reader's Digests - Red / Green / Blue
Magazines
Paper Comics
If you are not certain, please send photos and descriptions via whatsapp to 083 294 5616. We will tell you if we can attempt to sell your books or not.
Retail Estimates:
If books are clean, neat and in good to very good like new condition they can retail anywhere between these ranges depending on author and nature of books:

Small paperbacks/hardcovers - R20 - R50
Medium paperbacks/hardcovers - R30 - R60
Large paperbacks/hardcovers - R40 - R80
If the books are in very high demand, but scarce, the amounts can be even higher.
*Book shop gets 50% commission on all sales. I.e.: If we sold your book for R40 the book shop takes R20 and you get R20. Our commission is not negotiable.
