Shay Benson sacrifices her safety to help her younger brother and is forced to begin again with almost nothing. She finds refuge through a church programme led by Pastor Drew Douglas, a widower still grieving his wife and struggling to reconnect with his children. As Shay rebuilds her confidence and Drew begins to heal, friendship grows into a love neither expected. Their future is threatened by distrust, painful histories and the return of problems Shay hoped she had escaped. Both must decide whether faith and forgiveness can give them the courage to risk a new family and a shared life.
