Santiago, a young Andalusian shepherd, dreams repeatedly of treasure near the Egyptian pyramids. Encouraged to follow what is described as his Personal Legend, he leaves the familiar world of his flock and crosses North Africa. Along the way he meets a merchant, an English seeker and an alchemist, each teaching him something about fear, purpose and attention. His quest becomes a fable about listening to the heart and recognising treasure in unexpected forms.
