Young lawyer Adam Hall takes the case of Sam Cayhall, a former Ku Klux Klan member awaiting execution for a bombing that killed two children. Sam is also the grandfather Adam has never known. With the deadline approaching, Adam searches through decades of racism, family silence and political manipulation for evidence that might save him. The defence forces both men to confront responsibility, inherited shame and whether the law can deliver justice when truth has been buried for years.
