Case Callahan isn't the type of kid people write newspaper articles about. He's not a star swimmer like his sister, Quinn. He's not a champion horse trainer like his father, or a popular stage actor like his mother. He's not even an excellent burper like his best friend, Harry. He isn't good at anything, really. But Case feels certain all that is about to change, that soon he'll be the one with his picture in the paper. He just doesn't know for what. Determined to make his mark in the family, Case tries out all sorts of activities. He practices for the school spring talent show, works hard on his science project, and participates in the junior horse show. But it isn't until he comes upon a lost dog that Case finds his path to success. Case takes the dog home and names him Noah, and the two become fast friends. Right away it's clear that Noah is a special dog-what other golden retriever can answer the telephone and put dishes in the dishwasher? When Case discovers that he has a knack for training animals, he and Noah seem destined to win dozens of blue ribbons. Then something happens
